NEW BANGS – Hi Hater

The whiny reggaton inspired beat is catchy as fuck. The broken English and thick Sudanese(?) accent add to the charm. And has Bangs improved at rapping over the last year or two or what?

I like this kid because;

1. He’s completely earnest and it comes across
2. Most rappers, locally, of his “calibre” are trying to gain traction using beats that would’ve been laughed at back in the “golden era” under the guise of making “real hip hop”. He gets points for creativity with something as simple as this.

Since my last post about the kid I’ve been listening to this non-stop. Decidedly Lo-Fi, he comes across as an adolescent Dr. Octagon, with decidedly less adolescent content.
That might not make sense, but the tape does. Perfect for sitting up, alone, in the dark, while the girl you just slept with sleeps and you wish she’d leave.
