Lil B for easter

The Easter rat never showed at my house So I’m looking through Lil B tracks instead of eating chocolate.

Kurt Diggler comes through with the good on this one, Lil Boss’s verse sounds a bit shit, levels are out or something, this is more than made up for by the awesome album art. Bri Baby is just one of a slew of dope female rappers that are coming out of the woodwork at the moment.

Also, Black C, the only member not to get shot and killed has a new album out called 70’s Baby. It’s nice, pretty “classic” sounding but that’s fine.

From one of the guys over at Nation of Thizzlam

Like all lists it’ll not be exactly right to everyone but from where I’m standing it’s pretty close to being bang on. Only thing I would’ve put in was maybe, cold world hustlers, GRP and askari x

These guys popped on my radar with these two tracks.

And then seemed to drop off the face of the earth. was just about to write a “what happened to…” post when i bothered to check again for new shit.

and turns out this dropped today

Aside from the obvious hyphy/post-hyphy influence they don’t sound like anyone and should be way bigger than they are.

Dru Down Appreciation

I have no idea why Dru Down didn’t break through to the mainstream. Guy had catchy songs. Beats were nice, he can rap and still pull off some quirky shit that’s gotta be marketable as fuck . Hardbody enough content to keep the wannabe thugs happy yet catchy enough tunes to make posteriors rotate.

I’d love to see the guy with his own video interview slot somewhere, or hosting awards/interviewing people on the red carpet and making shit hella awkward. ‘Cause that last video+song is not only bizarre but I think he’s taking the whole thing seriously, not a self deprecating moment in there.
